Escape From the North is a puzzle game made by Christoph Hofwartner in which we have to help Pengu escape the heat by making our way through the levels.

The game features a total of 24 levels in which our penguin protagonist, named Pengu, is trapped.
The gameplay mechanic is that of sliding ice puzzles, where the penguin will move in a straight line until it hits a wall every time we press a direction button. This forces us to plan out the exact route and moves needed to escape.
It's not just about the layout of the blocks — we'll also need a key to open the ice block blocking the door. There are also cracks in the ice that will make us lose and restart the level if we step on them. To add to the difficulty, there are also red arrows that will push us in the direction they point.
The game features a soundtrack and two save systems: both memory card and password. With the password system, you enter an alphanumeric code to return to your pending level.

Escape From the North es un juego de puzzles realizado por Christoph Hofwartner donde tendremos que ayudar a Pengu a escapar del calor avanzando por los niveles.

El juego presenta un total de 24 de niveles donde nuestro protagonista pingüino llamado Pengu se encuentra atrapado.
La mecánica de juego es la de los puzzles de hielo deslizante, en la que el pingüino se desplazará en linea recta hasta chocarse con la pared cada vez que pulsemos un botón de dirección. Esto nos obliga a pensar la ruta y movimientos exactos para escapar.
No solo hay que tener en la disposición de los bloques, sino que requeriremos una llave para poder abrir el bloque de hielo que bloquea la puerta. Además, hay unas roturas en el hielo que si las pisamos perderemos y se reiniciará el nivel. Para aumentar la complejidad, también habrá unas flechas rojas que nos impulsarán hacia la dirección marcada.
El juego cuenta con banda sonora y dos sistemas de guardado: tanto por tarjeta de memoria como de contraseña. De esta forma, se introducirá un código alfanumérico para llevarnos al nivel pendiente.
